Cityfibre Completes Full Fibre Build In Kettering

CityFibre has now provided superfast full fibre access to over 25,000 homes (approximately 86% of residential properties and most businesses) in Kettering.

They began building in 2022 and allocated £17 million to the project. To date, the total amount of fibre cable laid equates to over 162 kilometres! They’ve hit their target of passing over 25,000 properties but will continue to explore more opportunities within the town with new-build developments, multi-dwelling units, and private roads/business parks.

Charlie Kitchin, CityFibre’s Partnership Manager for Kettering, said: “We’re thrilled to announce that the primary-build of our full fibre network in Kettering is now complete. With the UK’s best available digital infrastructure under its streets, residents can now enjoy seamless streaming with ample productivity and innovation benefits for the local economy. The rollout is an exciting step for Kettering’s connectivity, which will now benefit from faster and more reliable broadband.”

Phillip Hollobone, MP for Kettering, said: “CityFibre’s completion of its primary-build in Kettering is most welcome and marks a brand new chapter for the town. The advantages of full fibre connectivity will be invaluable, particularly when attracting new businesses and residents to the area. I look forward to continuing to work together and would like to thank everyone for their patience over the last couple of years.”
