ClearFibre Completes First Phase Of Full Fibre Roll Out In Cardiff

ClearFibre, part of the Telcom Group, has today announced the completion of its first phase build to bring superfast full fibre to Cardiff.

Many residents of Cardiff will now be able to order full fibre, up to 1GB, from ClearFibre.

Chris Baldock, Executive Chairman at ClearFibre, commented: “We are proud to be a part of this city-wide project, delivered by Cardiff Council and funded by the Welsh Government, that is currently underway to build a network for Cardiff that serves premises currently suffering from poor broadband service. ClearFibre was selected by Cardiff Council to supply residents and businesses across the with hyperfast gigabit connectivity in under-served areas.

By bringing fast, reliable connections to parts of Cardiff that have historically suffered from slow, unstable internet, we’re helping bridge the gap between those being well served, and those being left behind. ClearFibre believes that access to hyperfast internet is a fundamental human right and this project will bring new businesses and people to the city and boost the local economy,” Baldock added.

ClearFibre’s mission is to “connect for good.” Baldock comments: “This means we’re dedicated to improving the quality of broadband access across the UK, helping our communities come together and thrive online with fast, reliable, and future-proofed connectivity. As part of our mission, we are bringing five free Community Connections to community centres throughout the city in order to provide free, fast wireless internet to these vital public spaces that plan an important role in upholding and bringing the people of Cardiff together. Pentrebane Community Centre, Trelai Community Pavilion, Pontprennau Community Church, Old St. Mellons Community Council, and The Beacon Centre will be upgraded to full fibre network connectivity with the necessary speed and capacity to future-proof the network for generations to come.”

Baldock adds: “At ClearFibre, we understand the importance of dependable high speed internet, which is why we are honoured to have been selected by Cardiff Council to complete both stages of this hyperfast broadband network buildout. By bringing 1Gbps internet to homes and businesses stuck on the wrong side of the digital divide, we look forward to helping Cardiff and its communities prosper and grow.”
