Quickline’s ‘Season of Giving’ Initiative Brings Christmas Joy to North Lincolnshire Hospice Patients

Quickline’s generous contribution to the ‘Season of Giving’ initiative brings warmth and joy to over a hundred patients at Lindsey Lodge Hospice in North Lincolnshire.

In a heartwarming display of holiday spirit, Lindsey Lodge Hospice in Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire, ensured a special Christmas for more than one hundred patients through the support of Quickline’s ‘Season of Giving’ campaign. The hospice, which provides inpatient and outpatient care to individuals facing life-limiting and terminal illnesses, celebrated the season by treating its patients with festive dinners and thoughtful gifts.

Patients at the Wellbeing Centre, an integral part of the hospice, were treated to a Christmas feast featuring turkey and all the trimmings, accompanied by individual gifts to unwrap on Christmas Day. For those staying at the hospice over the festive period, Quickline’s ‘Season of Giving’ campaign provided additional gifts and festive treats, making their Christmas experience memorable.

Tracy Strong, a healthcare assistant with 17 years of service at the hospice, emphasized the significance of creating special moments, particularly during the holiday season. She noted, “For many of our patients, this could be their last Christmas, and so we try to make it as special as possible. Quickline’s donation has been a massive help and allowed us to pay for these Christmas dinners as well as buy gifts for our patients.”

Lindsey Lodge Hospice, which relies on fundraising, retail, and grants to cover its annual operating costs of approximately £4.7 million, expressed gratitude for Quickline’s support. Kathryn Stuart, Fundraising Development Manager, highlighted the financial challenges the hospice faces and acknowledged the importance of contributions like Quickline’s in making Christmas truly special for patients and their families.

Stuart stated, “The donation from Quickline has helped us make Christmas special and allowed us to cover the cost for those added extras which mean such a lot to our patients and also to their families.”

Quickline’s commitment to community welfare is exemplified through initiatives like the ‘Season of Giving,’ where their contribution goes beyond connectivity to bring moments of joy and comfort to those in need during the holiday season.
