Quickline Inspires Students at New Training and Innovation Centre

Hull, UK – Quickline recently hosted its first educational visit at their new training and innovation centre in Hull, providing students with valuable insights into potential careers in the telecoms industry.

Eight students from Hull’s Ron Dearing University Technical College (UTC) had the opportunity to explore Quickline’s facility, which opened its doors just last month. This visit marked the beginning of Quickline’s engagement with local schools to nurture future talent for the industry.

The training and innovation centre primarily serves as a training ground for engineers specializing in both fibre and fixed wireless broadband. During the visit, engineering students gained hands-on experience and learned about the skills required to work at Quickline.

Wendy Hiley, HR and Talent Acquisition Partner at Quickline, emphasized the importance of such events, stating, “Quickline is a rapidly growing organization, and we are always looking for new talent to join our team. Events like this allow us to build important relationships with potential future employees, as well as providing them with invaluable experience.”

Quickline’s unique market-leading hybrid network enables them to showcase a wide range of skills and career opportunities in the telecoms industry. These sessions aim to help students gain early insights into potential careers, both in the broader telecoms sector and at Quickline specifically.

Ron Dearing UTC, an employer-led school, focuses on equipping students with the skills and experiences needed for successful careers. Glenn Jenson, Senior Assistant Principal – Employer Engagement at Ron Dearing UTC, highlighted the significance of such industry insight events. He said, “Quickline’s growth means there will be an increasing number of telecoms careers available in the region, so first-hand experience like this at the new training and innovation centre is priceless.”
