CityFibre Celebrates 4 Years of Transforming Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole

CityFibre, the UK’s largest independent full fibre provider, commemorates four years since the initiation of its ambitious project to revolutionize Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole’s (BCP) digital landscape with a comprehensive full fibre rollout. This milestone marks the completion of an impressive 1,043km of full fibre infrastructure, roughly equivalent to the distance between Bournemouth and Barcelona.

BCP joins the growing list of locations in the UK benefiting from CityFibre’s nationwide full fibre rollout, ensuring faster and more reliable services for generations to come.

Currently, residents and businesses in various areas of the district, including Boscombe, Westbourne, Southbourne, Kinson, Talbot Village, Turbary, East Howe, Wallisdown, Friars Cliff, Branksome, and Canford Heath, can access the new network, enjoying high-speed broadband from multiple providers. The rollout also continues in Bearwood, Alderney, New Milton, and Broadstone, expanding its coverage daily. The full BCP area rollout is more than halfway toward completion.

Adrian Smith, CityFibre’s Partnership Manager for Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole, expressed his satisfaction with the project’s progress over the past four years. The network’s reach, stretching from Bournemouth’s beach to Barcelona, is a testament to their achievements.

Smith extended gratitude to the local community for their support and patience throughout the project’s execution and anticipates more residents and businesses benefiting from the network in the near future.

The local rollout is carried out in collaboration with CityFibre’s build partner, CCN Communications, working closely with Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole Council to ensure the efficient management of any associated disruptions.

Customers in the BCP area can access services through UK launch partner Vodafone, offering selected Vodafone Pro Broadband plans. Additionally, TalkTalk, Giganet, Zen, and other providers are available, offering residents a range of choices for their broadband services.
