Warwickshire MP Jeremy Wright recently visited Openreach engineers to observe their efforts in constructing a new Ultrafast Full Fibre broadband network within parts of his constituency, Kenilworth and Southam.
His visit took him to the rural community of Honiley, where he witnessed the advantages that villagers are now enjoying thanks to this high-speed and reliable broadband connection. Ultrafast full fibre empowers residents with seamless connectivity, faster internet speeds, enhanced reliability, and the capability to use multiple devices simultaneously without experiencing slowdowns or buffering.
Jeremy Wright MP expressed his satisfaction with the progress during his visit, both to the Warwick telephone exchange and the installation work underway in Honiley. He acknowledged the multitude of benefits that full fibre brings to local communities and lauded the positive developments across his constituency.
During the visit, Jeremy Wright also joined Openreach in encouraging residents in nearby communities, including Haseley Knob, Beausale, Wroxall, and Five Ways, to take advantage of the free UK Government broadband vouchers. These vouchers enable them to secure faster broadband speeds and enhanced reliability, ensuring they don’t miss the opportunity for a Full Fibre upgrade.
To determine voucher eligibility and submit their pledge, residents can visit the Connect My Community website. While more than 85% of the required pledges have already been made, additional participation is needed to extend these benefits to communities, along with the 83,000 homes and businesses in Warwickshire already connected to full fibre broadband.
Kasam Hussain, Openreach’s regional director for Central England, hosted the MP’s visit and emphasized the bright future ahead for Warwickshire, with ultrafast speeds and unmatched reliability on the horizon. Openreach’s dedicated engineers are committed to keeping communities throughout the county and the wider region connected
