Fusion Fibre Brings Superfast Full Fibre to Stockton on the Forest

Residents of Stockton on the Forest are celebrating as the rollout of full fibre broadband begins in their Yorkshire village. A total of 377 properties, previously hindered by slow internet speeds, now have access to ultrafast connectivity with speeds reaching up to 1000Mbps thanks to Fusion Fibre.

This significant upgrade comes as a result of a £350,000 investment by internet service provider Fusion Fibre Group (formerly known as FACTCO), ensuring that the community will benefit from cutting-edge broadband technology for years to come.

Following the activation of their network in late February, Fusion Fibre Group has been actively connecting local homes and businesses to the new fibre infrastructure.

For residents like Mr. and Mrs. Gregson, who struggled with speeds of just 40Mbps while working from home, the transition to a full fibre connection has been transformative. “It’s running perfectly,” said Mr. Gregson when asked about their new service. “We’ve got a TV in almost every room, all streaming at once without any issues. My kids love watching Cars on Disney and Minnie Mouse, and now they can enjoy it seamlessly.”

Gary Spooner, Head of National Sales at Fusion Fibre Group, is eager for more residents in Stockton on the Forest to experience the benefits of the new network. “This new infrastructure represents a major milestone in our mission to bring full fibre connectivity to rural communities across the county. None of this would have been possible without the support of the Digital York Team.”

Roy Grant, Head of ICT at City of York Council, emphasized the importance of reliable internet access: “For many residents and businesses in York and the surrounding areas, internet connectivity is no longer a luxury but a necessity. We are thrilled to see full fibre broadband introduced in Stockton on the Forest, marking another step forward in providing the best possible connectivity and fully realizing the advantages of living near the UK’s first Gigabit City.”
