Residents of Ruskington and Upton in Lincolnshire are in for a treat this Friday, February 10th, as Quickline, the fast and reliable full fibre broadband provider, is celebrating the cherished “fish and chip Friday” tradition by offering a free chippy tea at their local fish and chip shops.
As part of their community engagement efforts and to mark the expansion of their broadband services to these areas, Quickline is giving back to these communities with a heartwarming gesture. With the weather cold and the nights long, the free chippy tea aims to bring a ray of warmth and delight to residents.
Julian Chalk, Head of Enablement and Engagement at Quickline, expressed the company’s desire to bring cheer to the communities they serve, especially during these challenging times of rising living costs. He stated, “We’d love as many residents as possible to have a cheer-up chippy tea on us and enjoy a treat at what can be a challenging time of the year. We know times are tough and the cost of living is rising for many people, and this is a small gesture from us to help out and lift spirits.”
Ruskington and Upton are among the latest communities to benefit from Quickline’s fast and reliable full fibre broadband services. The company continues its broadband rollout across rural areas in North and West Yorkshire, North Lincolnshire, and Lincolnshire.
The response to the free chippy tea offer was overwhelming, with all vouchers claimed within 48 hours of being shared on Quickline’s social media channels. Each voucher provides residents with a complimentary portion of fish and chips. Quickline’s engagement team will also be present at the fish and chip shops on the day of the giveaway to meet residents and address any inquiries they may have about available broadband packages.
The two fish and chip shops participating in this giveaway are Upton Fish Shop on High Street, Upton, and The Elite Fish & Chip Company on High Street, Ruskington.
Sally Clarke, owner of Upton Fish & Chip Shop, expressed her delight in partnering with Quickline for this initiative. She said, “When Quickline got in touch with us to ask if we’d be interested in supporting the scheme, it was a no-brainer – who doesn’t love fish and chips on a Friday, especially when they’re free!?”
