CityFibre Lights up Luton

CityFibre is making great strides with its £45m network in Luton and Dunstable, with the project now bringing fibre to thousands more premises. This new network will provide Luton and Dunstable residents with a faster and more reliable internet connection, which is vital for modern-day living.

The works have been completed in large parts of East Luton, including Stopsley and Wigmore. Exploratory and pre-works in the town centre will be taking place in early January, with CityFibre’s full fibre rollout continuing across Luton throughout 2023, and Dunstable’s rollout scheduled to get underway early next year.

The network will provide a boost to Luton’s economy, with the faster and more reliable internet connection making it easier for local businesses to compete and attract new customers. This could help to drive growth and create new jobs in the town.
In Luton, services will be available from a range of providers, including Vodafone, Giganet, Air Broadband, Yazi, No-one, IDNet, A&A, Octaplus, Link Broadband, and Facto. This range of providers will give residents and businesses greater choice when it comes to selecting their internet service provider.

Jean Gowin, CityFibre’s Area Manager for Luton, has emphasised the company’s commitment to working closely with the council to minimise any disruption to residents as the network rollout continues into new areas of the town. Construction is being delivered by Instalcom on behalf of CityFibre, which is helping to support local jobs and boost the local economy.

Overall, the new fibre network is expected to provide a significant boost to Luton’s infrastructure, making it a more attractive place to live, work and do business.
