Homes and businesses across much of Bracknell can now future-proof their digital connectivity, thanks to CityFibre, the UK’s largest independent provider of full fibre infrastructure. The company has completed substantial parts of its £20 million network rollout, covering areas including Easthampstead, Harmans Water, Binfield, Birch Hill, Crown Wood, Great Hollands, and Jennetts Park.
The project, initiated in March 2021, is part of CityFibre’s nationwide effort to bring full fibre internet to a growing number of UK locations. With this latest milestone achieved, the rollout is progressing into the Bullbrook, Warfield, and Ascot areas, with completion expected by 2024.
Neil Madle, CityFibre’s Partnership Manager for Bracknell, noted the positive impact of the project on the town’s digital infrastructure. He also acknowledged the short-term disruption it might cause but emphasized the long-term benefits it would bring.
Full fibre networks utilize 100% fibre optics for lightning-fast data transmission, offering users speeds of up to 1,000 Mbps for uploads and downloads, virtually unlimited bandwidth, and dependable connectivity.
Volker Highways, CityFibre’s local build partner, is closely coordinating with Bracknell Forest Council to ensure smooth and safe project execution.
James Sunderland, Member of Parliament for Bracknell, Crowthorne, and Sandhurst, recognized the importance of fast and reliable connectivity in the digital age. He expressed optimism about the future benefits the CityFibre rollout would bring to residents and businesses.
CityFibre’s mission is to provide residents with a choice of competitive service providers. In Bracknell, customers can subscribe to UK launch partner Vodafone, available on selected Vodafone Pro Broadband plans, as well as TalkTalk, Giganet, Zen, and other providers.
