In a significant step towards enhancing broadband connectivity, the coastal town of Brightlingsea proudly welcomes its first resident to be connected to BeFibre’s state-of-the-art full-fibre broadband network. The successful installation and activation are a testament to the network’s capability, as verified by the Millington family, the initial recipients of this high-speed connectivity.
The installation process, as described by the family, was seamless and efficient. The BeFibre engineer meticulously set up the connection by running fibre cables and installing essential equipment like the Optical Network Terminal (ONT) and the Linksys router. The results were impressive, with consistent speeds ranging from 820 to 900 Mbps, providing the family with an optimal online experience.
This development signifies the official launch of fibre-to-the-premises (FTTP) connectivity in Brightlingsea, following nearly ten months of rigorous preparations by BeFibre and its sister company, Digital Infrastructure.
Louise Elliott, Chief Customer and Operations Officer for BeFibre and Digital Infrastructure, expressed excitement about the upgraded experience the Millington family will now have, highlighting how BeFibre’s 900 Mbps full-fibre package addresses the increasing demand for high-speed internet across various activities, from video calls to gaming.
