Openreach is calling upon residents in Badminton to support an initiative aimed at delivering ultrafast, highly dependable full fibre broadband to local homes and businesses. The company has emphasized the significance of applying for free Government broadband vouchers, which can be utilized to secure faster internet speeds and improved reliability.
Should a sufficient number of residents participate, Badminton will be included among the more than 20,000 homes and businesses across South Gloucestershire that already benefit from Full Fibre broadband. This initiative is facilitated through the Government’s Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme and the introduction of innovative broadband signal-boosting technology, capable of extending the reach of the Full Fibre network. Consequently, thousands of remote rural communities, like Badminton, are now within reach of this ultrafast technology.
Openreach has identified Badminton as a viable candidate for Full Fibre coverage and is encouraging local residents to take the next step by applying for and aggregating free Government Gigabit Vouchers to support the build.
To determine eligibility and contribute to the initiative, residents can visit the Connect My Community website. Importantly, these vouchers incur no cost to residents and enable Openreach to collaborate with the local community in establishing a customized, co-funded network. These vouchers can be consolidated to expand the ultrafast, highly dependable network to properties located in outlying rural areas that may not otherwise receive private investment.
This initiative promises to revolutionize connectivity in Badminton, affording residents and businesses access to ultrafast broadband services that can significantly enhance online experiences and bolster economic development.
