Netomnia, one of the UK’s fastest-growing altnet, has hit a major milestone by making over 1,000,000 homes and businesses Ready for Service (RFS) as part of its national fibre rollout. This achievement comes in just four years, showcasing Netomnia’s rapid growth and commitment to becoming the third national fibre infrastructure in the UK.
Founded in 2019 by Chief Executive Officer Jeremy Chelot, Netomnia has now brought its network to over 100 communities across the UK, offering broadband speeds of up to 10Gbps. In the last year alone, the business has passed 500,000 premises, reinforcing its mission to expand its reach and impact.
Netomnia has laid over 15,600km of fibre to build its network – that’s the equivalent distance from London to Cairns, Australia. This massive effort underscores their dedication to transforming the UK’s internet landscape.
Zoltán Kovács, Managing Director at Netomnia, expressed his pride: “We are incredibly proud that our network now serves one million premises. Starting from scratch in 2020 and reaching this milestone in just four years is unprecedented. This success is thanks to the dedication and hard work of our entire team. We also extend our gratitude to all our partners and stakeholders for being part of this journey.”
He added, “By accelerating the UK’s transition to fibre, we’re empowering residents and businesses to unleash their potential with world-class connectivity.”
In a significant move, Netomnia recently merged with fellow altnet Brsk. This merger makes the group the second-largest altnet in the UK, with a combined total of 1.6 million premises ready for service.
The group aims to reach three million premises by the end of 2025, continuing its mission to provide unparalleled connectivity across the nation.
