Freedom Fibre is making waves again, this time with the launch of the Freedom Fund, a community initiative aimed at supporting good and green projects throughout North Shropshire. With a hefty £25,000 set aside, this fund is slated to inject much-needed resources into local initiatives. Opening its doors for applications on Friday, 05 April 2024, the Freedom Fund stands as a beacon for grassroots environmental efforts, particularly in areas where Freedom Fibre is rolling out its lightning-fast, full-fibre network.
Teaming up with the UK government, Freedom Fibre is at the forefront of revolutionizing connectivity in North Shropshire. Their lightning-fast, full-fibre network isn’t just about speed; it represents the future, poised to replace the outdated copper infrastructure in a nationwide switch-off. Soon, both internet and phone lines will rely on the kind of full-fibre network Freedom Fibre is pioneering.
But it’s not just about connectivity; it’s about community. That’s why Freedom Fibre is doubling down on its commitment to North Shropshire with the Freedom Fund. This initiative will offer grants of up to £500 to non-profit community groups dedicated to environmental projects. Now in its third year, the Freedom Fund has already made a tangible impact, supporting various endeavors such as community orchards, solar panel installations, and habitat restoration projects. With this continued support, the future of North Shropshire looks greener and brighter than ever before.

Community non-profit groups interested in applying to the Freedom Fund can find out more and apply at www.freedomfibre.com/fund. Applications of up to £500 can be made online and must be made before 5pm on Friday 28 June 2024.
