Quickline collaborates with global safety technology leader Peoplesafe, investing in state-of-the-art MySOS ID Badges to enhance safety measures for its field teams operating in remote areas.
Quickline, a prominent broadband provider, has announced a strategic alliance with Peoplesafe, a world leader in personal safety technology, to fortify the safety of its field teams operating in rural regions. The collaboration involves the deployment of MySOS ID Badges, a smart device equipped with industry-leading safety features.
The MySOS ID Badge ensures 24/7 connectivity for Quickline’s field teams, establishing a direct link to a dedicated support team in case of emergencies. Notably, the device facilitates swift communication with emergency services, streamlining the dispatch process for immediate assistance.
The cutting-edge safety technology incorporated in the devices includes fall detection, automatically alerting the control center if the wearer experiences a slip or fall, remaining inactive for a specific duration. Given the substantial time Quickline’s engineers spend in remote areas of Yorkshire and Lincolnshire, these devices play a pivotal role in enhancing safety during fieldwork.
Stephen Wilkinson, Head of Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) at Quickline, emphasized the company’s commitment to providing reliable broadband to remote communities and highlighted the importance of ensuring the safety of teams working in challenging terrains.
Using roaming SIM technology, the MySOS ID Badges connect seamlessly to the strongest network provider in the area. The devices allow teams to log their work details, including start and estimated completion times. In case of an incomplete job or expiration of the timer, an automatic call is initiated with the control center to ensure the employee’s well-being.
The devices utilize built-in GPS technology and integrate with the geocode system What3Words, enabling precise tracking of an employee’s location within a five-meter radius—a crucial feature in remote areas. Additionally, the MySOS ID Badges facilitate communication between team members and the control center.
Lee Allison, Chief Operating Officer at Quickline, emphasized the company’s unwavering commitment to the safety and well-being of its workforce. The implementation of MySOS ID Badges is a proactive measure to ensure that employees can perform their duties securely and return home without complications.
Peoplesafe CEO Naz Dossa expressed delight in contributing to Quickline’s safety initiatives, providing an additional layer of confidence for employees working in remote areas. Peoplesafe, founded in 2001 to protect victims of domestic abuse, has grown to become the largest employee safety technology provider globally, serving various sectors, including agriculture, utilities, transport, healthcare, and hospitality. The partnership reflects Quickline’s dedication to prioritizing the safety of its personnel as they continue to expand and evolve.
