Roxwell residents are being urged by Openreach to support an initiative aimed at bringing ultrafast, highly reliable full fibre broadband to their local homes and businesses. The broadband provider has emphasized the importance of applying for free Government broadband vouchers to secure faster internet speeds and improved reliability.
If a sufficient number of residents participate, Roxwell will become part of the growing network of over 220,000 homes and businesses in Essex that already have access to Full Fibre broadband. This initiative is made possible through the Government’s Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme and the introduction of new broadband signal-boosting technology, which extends the reach of the Full Fibre network, making ultrafast technology accessible to previously underserved rural communities like Roxwell.
Openreach has identified Roxwell as a suitable candidate for Full Fibre coverage and is encouraging local residents to take the next step by applying for and pooling together free Government Gigabit Vouchers to support the build.
To determine eligibility and contribute to the initiative, residents can visit the Connect My Community website. Importantly, these vouchers come at no cost to residents and allow Openreach to collaborate with the local community in establishing a customised, co-funded network. The vouchers can be aggregated to expand the ultrafast, highly reliable network to properties in remote rural areas that might not otherwise receive private investment.
This initiative promises to transform connectivity in Roxwell, providing residents and businesses with access to ultrafast broadband services that can significantly enhance online experiences and support economic growth.
