Ogi has teamed up with Amazon to introduce a Welsh language feature in the latest eero wifi software. This is a big step forward in enhancing the broadband experience for Welsh-speaking users across the country. If you weren’t aware, Ogi is wales leading “altnet” and if you look on any of their content, its always in both English and wales.
The partnership is a testament to both companies’ commitment to supporting local needs while pushing for a more connected, smarter Wales. As of today, the eero wifi system, a popular higher end CPE for altnets, now allows users to navigate its features entirely in Welsh. This makes eero one of the few smart home systems to offer Welsh-language support within its mobile app (we rand some checks and could only find one other device that offers this service)
Ogi has been at the forefront of Wales’s digital revolution for over three years, and this collaboration further demonstrates their commitment to creating a seamless customer experience. Engineers at Eero have worked to customise the app, integrating familiar Welsh-language terms, and making smart home management easier and more accessible for Welsh speakers.
This development is a clear sign that Wales’s digital landscape is not only expanding but becoming more inclusive, ensuring that technology keeps pace with the needs of local communities.
Speaking about the new feature, Ogi’s Brand Marketing Director, Sarah Vining, said: “Ogi’s mission has always been to provide world-class services that are inherently Welsh.”
“Working with the team at eero, we’re not only bringing cutting-edge technology to Welsh homes but also making it more accessible for our customers, and for users all over Wales too. This partnership reflects our shared vision to make the internet more accessible to everyone.”
Welsh language support is now available to all eero users by downloading the latest software update (release 6.47.0).
“Our mission is to bring fast, reliable, and secure wifi to customers around the world.” said Mark Sieglock, eero EVP, Software and Services. “We’re thrilled to partner with Ogi to add Welsh language support, making the eero app more accessible to Welsh speakers in Wales.”
