Hyperoptic, the alternative broadband provider, has reached a significant milestone by successfully connecting more than 300,000 customers in the UK to its gigabit-capable full fibre network. This achievement comes as Hyperoptic relaunches its brand with a renewed focus on enhancing the customer experience.
The company’s recent ‘In your corner’ campaign offers an appealing alternative to traditional broadband providers known for poor customer service, lack of transparent pricing, and unreliable network connectivity.
Hyperoptic’s extensive network now spans over 1.4 million homes across 64 towns and cities in the UK. The company initially deployed its services in multi-dwelling units, including the UK’s first residential gigabit connection in Wandsworth in 2011. Subsequent growth has been achieved by connecting new developments and residential streets in densely populated areas.
Dana Tobak, Founder and CEO of Hyperoptic, emphasized the company’s dedication to connecting customers, showcasing a better way to provide broadband services across the UK. Hyperoptic’s commitment to a five-star customer experience has been instrumental in its success.
The company’s focus on delivering exceptional customer service is underscored by research revealing the subpar experiences of many UK broadband users. Nearly a quarter of broadband users (23%) have never switched providers, while 30% express the desire to switch but find it too time-consuming or inconvenient. Furthermore, 22% indicate a willingness to switch providers but anticipate difficulties in ending their current contracts.
In 2019, Hyperoptic secured a majority stake acquisition by leading global investment firm KKR.
Hyperoptic’s next objective is to reach 500,000 customers and expand its network to cover two million homes, all while maintaining its reputation for market-leading penetration and excellent customer service as the company scales its operations.
