Brsk continues to build at an impressive pace, with the altnet announcing their addition of 30,000 properties each month, bringing their total to 500,000 properties passed as of last week!
While some “altnets” may be slowing down on the build side, the same cannot be said for Brsk. Operating in the West Midlands and the north-west of England, Brsk has been actively constructing since 2020. It was only in March last year that they announced the passing of 200,000 properties. Achieving the milestone of half a million properties in just over a year is indeed remarkable.
This accelerated build rate has been facilitated by their latest investment. Brsk successfully secured an additional £156 million debt investment from funds managed by Ares Management Corporation’s (“Ares”) Infrastructure Debt strategy. This funding has been upsized from an initial £103 million commitment, bringing the total to £259 million.
Ian Kock, Chief Operating Officer, commented on their strategy, stating: “Our focus has been on reaching scale and building a high-quality network as efficiently as possible. Our build engine is producing over 30,000 homes per month across four regions, and we are well on our way to achieving our ambition of providing better broadband to one million homes.”
